Charalambos Nicolaides

Charalambos Nicolaides has worked in the Aviation Industry for more than 30 years. His professional journey started in 1982 as a member of a group for the establishment of British Airways Ground Handling unit in Cyprus. Over the years he took over the airport management until 1996 when he left in order to build his own aviation company, Transerve Aviation. This company mostly handled commercial airlines and private jets.

In 1999 Transerve Aviation has joined Salamis Group of Companies and Mr. Nicolaides became the Operations Director and Airports Manager. His duties also included the foundation of Salamis Aviation and Salamis Air. In 2005 he left the Salamis Group as he was approached by the company Swissport-GAP Vassilopoulos (Cyprus) Ltd to participate in the building of Swissport in Cyprus, mainly ground handling units for both Cyprus Airports. He was appointed General and Operations Manager Airports (LCA & PFO). When the company was transformed to Swissport- (Cyprus) LTD Mr. Nicolaides continued offering his services from his position as a General and Executive Aviation Manager Cyprus. In 2008 he left Swissport voluntarily and became an Aviation Consultant/Trainer.
In November 2014 he formed with other businessmen and aviation and tourism professionals the Aviation & Tourism Institute (ATI).
During his ongoing career he gave a lot of attention and also got involved personally with the training of all engaged personnel in various subjects of aviation and also in transportation of dangerous goods. The last few years he is occupied intensively with matters of aviation security and transportation of dangerous goods regulations. He is an approved/accredited trainer of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Today he is a shareholder, Managing Director and one of the basic trainers of ATI in the subjects of DGR and Cargo in addition to other subjects concerning the Aviation training.

Lia Kallidou-Ellina

Lia has more than 15 years of experience in delivering professional training in large organizations in the private as well as the public sector. Among other subjects, she has focused on Internal and External Communication, Customer and Passenger Services, Crisis Management, Conflict Resolution at the Workplace, Gender Equality, as well as Sexual Harassment. She was a contractor with the Cyprus Academy of Public Administration and the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute.  During her career she has worked for local as well as multinational companies.  She is currently an HRDA Approved Trainer.

Lia has a Law Degree, and a Masters of Political Sociology from the London School of Economics.  She is currently the General Manager of ATI.

Elena Tatti

Elena Tatti with extensive experience in the aviation industry has joined Aviation & Tourism Institute (ATI) as instructor of the IATA/ UFTAA Foundation Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
Elena worked for Cyprus Airways for 36 years and during her long tenure, she worked in a number of posts. She started her career in the area of Passenger Handling, then moved to Ticketing and Reservations fields for a number of years. She had been assigned to establish the Distribution and Revenue Integrity section of Cyprus Airways, a new area for the company, which she which she led and managed until the end of her career. She achieved new procedures and policies for the company effecting her area of responsibility. During her last two years of career with the airline, she managed also the Reservations & CRS Maintenance area.
Elena, among her other duties, had been training her subordinates since 2003 in GDS Audit Systems and also Revenue Integrity Systems. Furthermore, she carried out Educational seminars for GDS efficient practice to Travel Agents in Cyprus, Greece and United Kingdom, CRS / GDS awareness workshop to Cyprus Airways Sales Managers and presented workshops on behalf of BARIC in Cyprus and of BARIG in Greece. She provided training in Ticketing and Reservation to the company’s 3rd party Ground handlers, Swissport at London Stansted and Paris Charles De Gaule.
Elena’s professional career, outside of being instructor at ATI, is in aviation consulting. She works for a US based company, mainly from the operational, consultancy and support perspective with an emphasis on global distribution, and training to Airline customers in Distribution and RI systems and related procedures.

Christiana Akrita

Carrying a wealth of experience, for 25 years, as Cabin Crew in Cyprus Airways, Christiana Akrita has joined Aviation & Tourism Institute as IATA's Cabin Crew Training Instructor.

Christiana has always maintained a high professional standard all those years and had served Aviation Industry with great zeal, discipline and hard work, carrying her duties with consistency and enthusiasm.

During her flying career she has served on most of CY's aircraft types which included BAC 1-11, Airbus A310, Α330, Α321, A320 and A319 family aircraft. Her training records indicate a high standard of training assessments with reported record of excellent results on Customer Relations and outstanding training performance on Safety & Emergency Procedures, First Aid, Passenger Handling, Dangerous Goods, Security, Survival and Inflight Services Standards & Procedures. Also she developed exceptional Crew Resource Management skills (CRM) including Leadership, Communication and Teamwork skills. In recognition to her professional performance, in 2010, she has been promoted, trained and operated as per Cyprus Airways requirements to the position of Senior Cabin Crew Member until Cyprus Airways ceased operations.

Being so passionate about Aviation and Flying, Christiana coaches, motivates and supports her students to follow their dream to the sky. With her comprehensive expertise, her knowledge but especially her LOVE on the field, she will convey and promote her skills and positive energy to ATI’s training participants. It is a fact that most of her students are now working as Cabin Crew! Something that is ALWAYS her achieving goal!
